The @pata_ativa_associacao, based in Albufeira, is a non-profit organization dedicated to defending animals and nature. Without its own facilities, it works with temporary foster families in partnership with the Albufeira Animal Welfare Center.
The Pata Ativa Association denounces mistreatment, promotes responsible adoptions and runs awareness campaigns to protect animals and the environment. 🐶 🐱
On Saturday 17th, we went dog walking with the association. 🐶
We collected and donated over 200kg of dog and cat food, an action that means a lot to our four-legged friends and our Social Responsibility department.
On February 12, 2024, our Social Responsibility Department, in partnership with the First Group, organized a memorable inclusive Carnival afternoon at the Twice nightclub. The event brought joy and entertainment to about 40 attendees from Apatris 21 – Algarve’s Down Syndrome Association and Appc Faro.
With sustainability as the theme, the event stood out for the creative costumes designed by the associations, exclusively using recyclable materials. For the participants, it was a unique experience—a true “night out” full of smiles, dance moves, and the authentic spirit of Carnival.
This social responsibility initiative highlights the power of collaboration between public, private, and associative entities, showing how joint efforts can create unforgettable moments and have a positive impact on the community.
On December 9, 2023, we hosted a special Christmas Solidarity Lunch that brought together 170 Refood beneficiaries at João de Deus Secondary School in Faro.
This remarkable event was made possible through the collective efforts of 47 volunteers, including employees from various companies within the Grupo Timing and external workers, such as chefs and kitchen assistants, who contributed their time and skills.
The entertainment was provided by four talented artists who created unforgettable moments:
To make the day even more memorable, all participants received a special gift at the end of the event.
With this initiative, part of our Social Responsibility Department’s efforts, we aim to inspire other companies to actively engage in social causes.
We believe that, by working together, we can build fairer and more inclusive communities, reaching out to those who need it most.
With the arrival of winter, many vulnerable people face enormous challenges to cope with the cold temperatures.
In a spirit of solidarity, Timing launched the “Share the Warmth” campaign, mobilizing employees, partners, and the community to collect winter clothes in good condition.
These items were donated to Associação C.A.S.A Porto, an organization playing a vital role in providing social support.
The Associação C.A.S.A Porto assists homeless individuals, families at risk, and low-income families by promoting actions that help them overcome adversity and bring comfort to their lives.
This initiative highlights Timing’s commitment to positively impacting the communities it operates in. More than just donating winter clothes, it’s a demonstration of unity, empathy, and social responsibility.
In our social responsibility department, we believe every act of solidarity has the power to warm not only bodies but also hearts. 💖
We invite everyone to be part of these initiatives, helping to build a fairer and more equal future for all. Together, we are stronger! 🫶🏼
On December 13, we delivered 10 monitors and 2 bunk beds to the Ecos Urbanos Association in São João da Madeira.
The donation of monitors is an essential tool for learning and helps open doors to educational opportunities.
The bunk beds, synonymous with comfort, will certainly be a great help to those who need it most. The support of a family and the warm bed of many hearts 💕
Ecos Urbanos is a Private Institution of Social Solidarity and a Collective Person of Public Utility that promotes the development of activities and services for the promotion and social integration of individuals and families in the community.
Let’s be ever more inclusive. Let’s support young people even more.
Let’s do more good, without looking at whom 🥰
From October 14 to 21, Portimão will host the Hansa Worlds Championship 2023, an adapted sailing competition held worldwide.
The Hansa Worlds Championship is inclusive and proves that the sea and the wind are for everyone, regardless of their physical condition.
Timing is present as one of the sponsors, having supplied the reusable cups that will be used throughout the event. We have joined the Hansa Worlds Championship 2023 by assuming our social and environmental responsibility. 🧡
With the start of another school year, Timing wanted to be part of this new cycle. We donated 100 kits of school supplies, making a difference to the lives of these children and young people.
The D. Francisco Gomes Institute, in Faro, is a Private Social Solidarity Institution that welcomes, educates and integrates children and young people into society. Its main aim is to ensure that the children and young people in its care regain the balance and emotional stability essential for their future integration into their families and society.
The Ecos Urbanos Association, in São João da Madeira, is a Private Institution of Social Solidarity and a Collective Person of Public Utility that promotes the development of activities and services to promote the social integration of individuals and families in the community. Its main objectives are social inclusion and socio-community development, supporting young people in building their life project.
Together, we are promoting a better life for those in need.
There are more and more requests for help from families who are experiencing great financial difficulties and are unable to buy essential goods for their little ones.
We’ve joined an association that tries to make a difference every day.
@apams2006, the Portuguese Association for the Support of Single Mothers, aims to help mothers, children and disadvantaged people in general with medicines, clothes, food, education, vocational training and reintegration into social and professional life, or even financially.
With everyone’s help, Timing and Brindes 360 delivered around 300 kgs of clothes, children’s shoes and toys collected through the “Giving joy to the little ones” campaign.
Together, we are promoting a better life for those in need.
Menstrual Poverty is, unfortunately, a problem that affects many women. It concerns the lack of access to menstrual hygiene products, such as pads, tampons, menstrual cups, among others.
This deprivation affects, on a daily basis, the health and hygiene of women in financial poverty. And so it is everyone’s responsibility to support hygiene product distribution initiatives.
We were able to raise an incredible amount of feminine hygiene products to help women who need so much. And you were part of this transformation! Each product donated is a gesture of solidarity that shows women that they are not alone.
The products have already been delivered to AIPAR and MAPS
Together, we are promoting women’s equality and well-being. 💗
On May 17, Timing donated a van to the Refood Center of Faro. The donation will help in the distribution to more and more families, in reaching more partners and in rescuing more food.
“The REFOOD Movement is independent, sustainable, 100% volunteer, democratic, citizen-driven and organized in local communities. It is dedicated to recovering food in good condition and feeding people in need through the inclusion of the local community.”
We leave our special thanks to Refood Faro, for allowing us to be part of their story!
The goal was clear: “help those who need it most”. Last Saturday, December 17th, Timing organized a solidarity Christmas lunch at Escola Básica D. Joaquim Magalhães, in Faro, where almost 100 people supported by Refood got together.
The lunch was made – and organized – by both Timing’s external workers and office staff, in a total of about 25 people. The choice of Refood Faro as an institution to help was “immediate” because they do “extraordinary work”.
People from “ages 8 to 80” took part in the lunch. In the words of Ricardo Mariano, CEO of Timing, they were all “very happy”: “Many people who were there will have a Christmas Eve with less affection, less love than there was at that lunch”, he adds.
In addition to lunch, each person also received a gift.
The goal is to make this initiative become a tradition.
“We want this to be the first of many lunches: this is what Christmas is all about. This was the first time, but we want more, and we also want this to be an example for other companies, because a lot of love was shared at that lunch,” he concludes.
On May 13, Timing was present in a training session with Associação Kokua, about social assistance dogs.
Kokua is a non-profit association that aims to increase the autonomy and well-being of people with functional diversity, and their families. The training was composed of two workshops “training methodology” and “design of animal-assisted intervention sessions”.
The Kokua Association specializes in Assistance Dogs, Animal Assisted Interventions and Biodetection.
We leave our special thanks to Kokua – assistance dogs, Indie, Marco and Daiana for the enriching experience they provided us
Being pet-friendly is good, indoors and out.
Therefore, this October, Timing was proud to donate to Animal Rescue Algarve around 300kg of dry food. ARA was founded in 2017 by an English businessman residing in the Algarve and dedicated to improving the well-being of dogs and cats in Portugal.
Unfortunately, animal abandonment continues to grow, kennels are full of bigeyes waiting for a family and state support is not enough. It remains for us, as members of society, to do our part.
Dogs are the best thing in the world.
So, before buying, thing about adopting.
The business group Timing is supporting the marketing and communication of the Movimento pro-Animal de Faro (MAF), an association that works «for the good of Faro society».
«We are proud to have sponsored this cause that tells us a lot. We have already started to work together on the marketing and communication of MAF, giving greater visibility to the extraordinary work that this association has been doing for some time. We believe that our partnership will be very good and productive», says Ricardo Mariano, CEO of the Timing Group.
«It is a movement whose work is community and for the good of Farense society», he adds.
The Faro Animal Movement was born in 2006.
“We appeal to you not to be indifferent to the animal cause. There are no homes for everyone and hence the importance of capturing and sterilizing stray animals for birth control and proliferation. If we all contribute, we will make a difference», concludes Ricardo Mariano.
Anyone who wants to donate can do so to 967 507 893 (MBWAY) or to IBAN PT50 0170 3027 0304 0014 1210 3
Regarding donations in kind, MAF accepts wet food, dry food, kennels, beds and blankets and antiparasitic.
Yesterday was, another day of doing good deeds
The fire that started in Gambelas, near the University of the Algarve, and spread to the municipality of Loulé, burned several hectares of land.
There were more than 200 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 and many hours of struggle.
At Timing we were not indifferent to these situations and we also made our contribution to the Faro Fire Department in order to reach as many as possible!
We know that, come what may, you are always on the front line wearing the jersey for all of us.
Thank you heroes, not only for these days
Social Responsibility is part of Timing’s DNA.
Always did.
Every year, we make a difference in someone’s life, in the life of some association or even some animal and the environment.
Since 2019, we have been associates and sponsors of the Guinea-Bissau albino association. The association has around 130 albinos, and we are the only non-albinos in the board, which makes us very proud. Wherever we go we are inclusive and that is priceless!
Only those who visit Guinea-Bissau can get a sense of the reality lived there. In the village of Bruce, in the Bijagós archipelago, there are about 400 inhabitants. The older ones cannot read or write. They live from what they grow, hunt and fish and, among the youngest, the unemployment rate is around 80%.
We are currently developing a solidarity project that involves the construction of a first-aid station; a school with a sponsorship program to guarantee the children’s studies, food and clothing; lighting the entire village using solar panels (already in progress) and sending 10 teenagers to the capital to take professional courses, with everything paid for by us. In addition, we also deal with the arrangement of the water hole, essential in the daily life of the community.
13 jobs were created with the emergence of this project and we are the largest employer on the island.
We are from people, for people.
And so we don’t know how to do it, if not good
Timing has social and environmental awareness in its DNA. Social responsibility is one of our pillars. That’s why, over the years, the company’s managers and employees have been committed to participating in and promoting various social and environmental projects.
Last Christmas, despite the pandemic situation (or even because of it), was no exception. For the new year 2021, we have new projects, such as collaboration on the AAUAlg+ Scholarships, in partnership with the Academic Association of the University of the Algarve.
Timing delivered 60 food baskets to former employees who are now unemployed.
This initiative was designed to “make up for the difficulties that some of the company’s former employees, who are still unemployed, are going through”.
In total, 60 people were supported who met the requirements – to have worked with the company for the last two years, for a period of one month or more, and to be without a job or state support at the moment.
We immediately joined forces with a number of Algarve companies in the food industry, contributing to an extra boost to the support initially planned.
One of the company’s mottos is “to position ourselves side by side with social responsibility – one of our main pillars – at environmental, animal and community level”.
For this reason, and at a time when all help is important, not least because the pandemic is still present among us all, we have decided to give a gift to employees who have worked with us in the recent past, and who, for reasons of force majeure, are currently unemployed and without monetary support.
In this case, the establishments that contributed to this initiative were Armazém Integral, Vila Sabores and Mini Mercado A Mochiqueira, in Portimão, Padaria da Ponte, in Vila Nova de Cacela, Padaria Madeira’s Pão Quente, in Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo, Mini Preço, in Tavira, Mini Mercado Nídia, in Olhão, Padaria Reis do Pão, in Loulé, and Pastelaria Trigo Dourado, Pastelaria Arco Íris and Michel Barras, in Faro. What’s more, thanks to this joint effort, we were able to double our donations and we also helped two other associations: MAPS and Refood.
Within the scope of Social Responsability, TIMING donated 2400 protection masks to G.A.T.O., in order to make up for the lack of this type of equipment and aiming to help all the needy households identified by this institution.
G.A.T.O. – Grupo de Ajuda a Toxicodependentes is a non profit Social Responsability Institution, based in Faro, that develops actions in the Primary Prevention and Treatment and Social Reinsertion areas.
They operate and the prevention, treatment and (re)insertion of people with licit and illicit drug consumption, children and young people at risk and other less fornunate population, as well as promoting the gender equality betwenn men and women.
The technical team is constituted by 9 technicians of complementary areas, namely: Social Security, Comunitary Education and Clinical Psycology and 6 helpers of Direct Action who perform systematic care, social diagnosis, home visits, psychosocial follow-up, Insertion Plans elaboration and follow-up as well as the articulation with other directly or indirectly involved entities in the referred aggregates insertion process.
Little by little, we know we are contribution to a chance in the world.
Make your contribution! Together we make a difference!
December 10th was pampering day to this year (and not only) heroes. The ones who combat in the front line – the men and women, the fathers and mothers, the brothers and friends!
We know this are some hard times and, however far we are, the love is always present and ours was in form of a 2000 chocolate donation to the Hospital De Faro staff, to sweeten their day.
Thank you all: doctors, nurses, auxiliaries and all the staff who work daily, in the health area, for not lowering your arms!
2020 was a rough year to all, without exception.
For a brief moment we all made a pause on our lives – we stopped, the world stopped.
We put the events, company dinners and big gatherings on hold; we stopped sharing moments, stopped celebrating victories.
But, on the other end, we further refined our sense of social responsability, were it not for one of the great pillars of our essence, and supported the local commerce (Casa Verde – Sociedade comercial de tecidos, Lda, Eunitecidos, Celly Confecções and many others) through buying blankets, gloves and beanies and we made a donation collection open to the public, which gathered 223kg of clothes and toys, to donate to those who need it the most.
2020 was a rough year to all, but together we made the difference.
In 2021 we will continue!
#yourtimeisnow 🧡
In a time in which the COVID-19 prevention is still so important, Timing People – Temporary Work Agency donated 1000 protection masks to the Homeless Support Center. This is a time in whice we should be a part, but at the same time, more closed than ever!!
Timing assumed as a company with an active role in the Social Responsibility.
When once again the country is experiencing the drama of the fire, the organization felt compelled to help those who every day are at the forefront of this battle. So, last August 10 were delivered to the Fire Brigade Corps of Faro 1457 liters of water that will be distributed in places where they are most needed.
Timing believes that if all civil society mobilizes with small gestures like this, we are all fighting the fire along with the heroes who put their lives at risk every day.
Thank you Firefighters of Portugal!
The satisfaction of our clients, the wellbeing of our staff and the co-operation of our suppliers are key elements that moves us towards excellence.
However, our commitment to people goes further.
We believe we are socially responsible towards the communities in which we are inserted, and we take actions that aim its sustainable development.
We intend to contribute not only to the local economic growth but also, implement activities which show our commitment in the conception of a fair and humane developed society.
The environment concerns, also ocupy our thoughts and our behaviour. We, Timing, want to garantee a healthy future for the coming generations and we commit ourselfs before this ideal.
We are all part of a society, and consider that the social responsibility is essential within our activity.
